This is a anti wobble mount for the Z access, the little barbs are designed to fit snug against the rods and are made in such a way that they break off with little force letting you know if you have wobble, if you don't they will still work. If one breaks off you should remover them all, I did it with my bare hands as they are designed to do that. :D
