Zhong-Kui (Shoki)

Zhong Kui is a deity primarily originating from Chinese folklore, believed to ward off epidemics and evil spirits while bringing academic success. In Japan, he has been revered and utilized as decorations for the Boys' Festival, as demon-warding roof tiles placed on townhouses in Kyoto and Nara, and as emblems on the banners of warlords during the Sengoku period.Today, while Zhong Kui is often displayed on the tile roofs of old houses, in modern apartments and other non-traditional dwellings,it can be found attached as a magnet to the entrance door. ※We use 2mm magnets.
