ZimaBlade Single Drive NAS Case

This design serves as a case for the ZimaBlade single-board server and a single 3.5-inch hard drive. The ZimaBlade includes internal storage for the operating system, while the hard drive functions as a NAS or local storage. I opted to install openmediavault as the OS for the NAS. TrueNas stands out as another popular choice for a NAS setup. Either option would work well. I created this design with the goal of building two units that automatically sync with each other. They could sync nightly using Rsync or in real-time with Syncthing. Pairing a remote backup with this setup, instead of relying on RAID, boosts storage space per dollar and keeps critical data safe during a disaster. RAID, after all, isn’t a substitute for a backup!
