This is a 1/24 scale model of a Zimmer Quicksilver. You may know that the Pontiac Fiero, with its mid-engine layout, plastic body panels, and dirt-cheap used price, is a great starting point for a kit car playing dress-up as something more expensive. What you may not know is people started taking advantage of this while the car was still new, first with some not-quite-legal dealer-built Ferrari replicas, and then with this.
Zimmer is a company that builds "neo-classical" cars, which usually involves adding 1930s-style front and rear bodywork to a modern car, while retaining the shape of the passenger compartment. The Quicksilver is a more cohesive design than any other Zimmer, because it was styled by Don Johnson, who was working for GM at the time. They stretched the Fiero chassis by 16 inches, which is still 2/3 of an inch at 1/24 scale, so this is kind of a big print.
