Zoetrope running man

I wanted to created a Zoetrope running man similar to this one http://hackaday.com/2016/06/29/3d-printed-zoetrope-sculpture-squashes-4-dimensions-into-3/ but can't figure out how to recreate the fishnet type pattern on the model. I've uploaded what I've done so far ( added a solid with the integrated silhouettes of a running and jumping man) and hope someone can simply add the pattern to the models skin and re-upload into another thingi. I've uploaded the SVG files in numbered order and also I've uploaded what I've done before blender. I believe you must shell the stl file and add a pattern but still can't figure it out. Would love to have this on my desk.
