Thundercats Claw Shield

The Claw Shield is primarily a defensive, shield like gauntlet Lion-O wears on his left hand, covering the entire arm up to his elbow. It is also a scabbard for the Sword of Omens when in dagger form.    Thundercats Claw Shield Starting out in 3d studio max, I used a digital 3D scan of my hand as the base model to work from, and started modelling the claw shield on top of the scan mesh - this allowed me to create a piece that would have good, wearable dimensions. I then imported the model into Zbrush for adding details; this was done mostly using the slash 3 and move brush. Lastly the model was imported to Rhino software, to be cut into two, printable parts. This piece comes with the Thundercats - Sword of Omens, which you can download from my colleague Lloyd Roberts. The are 8 parts to print and you can scale it up to fit your arm and fingers. After printing all parts I used super glue to put together the shield part, and after drying I then painted it the colour - ready to
