My friend made a hole in his wall to run some cables and needed a protector to keep the edges from getting crumbly. Could be used for desks or cabinets too, whatever hole your running cables through.
You can use this openscad to generate a custom drywall hole protector that comes in two identical interlocking parts. A set of two will fit together and align with the registration angles. Because they fit together, you can add them after you've already run the cables.
Probably want to print 4 and set height to a hair under 1/2 wall thickness.
I'm printing two of these at a time, arranged close to each other so they almost support each other.
