Designed and assembled a complete inline 4-cylinder 4-stroke engine mechanism in SolidWorks, replicating the fundamental kinematic and structural architecture used in internal combustion engines. The project focuses on the synchronization of reciprocating and rotating components, demonstrating how piston motion is converted into continuous crankshaft rotation through an integrated crank-slider mechanism. Critical engine elements including pistons, connecting rods, crankshaft, cylinder block, and crankcase were modeled and assembled to reflect actual engine motion and spatial integration principles used in automotive powertrain systems. Engineering Scope of the Project: • Developed accurate crank-slider motion relationships for all cylinders. • Implemented proper assembly constraints to simulate synchronized reciprocating movement. • Created sectional visualization for clear representation of internal engine architecture. • Structured the assembly for motion study and mechanism analysis applications.
