This is mechanism 5 in Henry T. Brown's book, 507 mechanical movements. This is like Movement #1 (simple belt and pulleys) but includes a movable tightening pulley. When the tightening pulley is pressed against the belt it takes up slack and transmits power; when it’s not pressed, the belt is so slack that motion isn’t transmitted. Although in the model the tighting pulley is there, it doesn't really do anything. #5: Original illustration from the book How to print: There are two print profiles - AMS print by object and No AMS Single color.
