This is a tool to pull PGA 68040 CPUs from motherboard sockets.

I built the constraints around the Macintosh Quadra 700 motherboard, with regard to other board components' proximity to the CPU socket. Feel free to remix this to meet your needs.

This is meant for PGA, socketed Motorola/Freescale 68040 CPUs only and will not work with PLCC, DIP or other socket/package CPUs. And as with most tools not made by the manufacturer, **use at your own risk**. Creator assumes no responsibility or liability for potential or actual damage you may cause.

_Description (only) Update (5/29/2020)_

Regarding other motherboards, in addition to the proximity of other board components, be aware of the orientation of the 68040 socket, as this puller will only slide over the CPU on one axis, due to the socket mounting posts and heatsink clips (even if your 040 has no heatsink, the socket will most likely have nubs for the heatsink clasps.
