Knellkins

Description The Knellkins are the lowest and most numerous of the Knellbound, though none should mistake them for harmless lesser beings. Each is a warped little acolyte whose head has long since vanished beneath ritual metal, the sacred shell fused over flesh until the bell became skull, face, and voice all at once. They scurry through ruined sanctums, cling to walls and pillars, and gather in twitching silence wherever the tolling grows strongest. No one agrees on how Knellkins are made. Some claim they are abandoned children offered to the bell in the first days of binding. Others insist they are failed priests and broken initiates, reduced through repeated rites until hunger, obedience, and sacred resonance are all that remain. Yet every tale speaks of the same truth: once the bell is sealed, the old self is gone. What remains is a shrill and tireless servant of the Knellbound, eager to answer the will of the Knellmaster and join the next procession of violence. They do not pray. T
