Adjustable piston

Stick the small rod into the larger one, then insert the rectangular piece into the large rod, with the notch near it's end. Press the lower part of the rectangle to be able to move the smaller rod, press the upper half to lock it. When locked, the small rod will not (at least it shouldn't) move under compression.
