I have my filament on a shelf and wanted a reliable solution for buffering the filament without too much of a printing effort. After many tries i came up with the Air & Gravity Buffer. Check out the video: https://youtu.be/sXk_YUJduSk to see it in action.
Please do not forget to post a make if you are using it. I have included step+f3d files for easy remixing.
The PTFE Clamp is remixed from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3338467 by VincentGroenhuis, it has a perfect snap-fit.
