AR MIX

This is an unofficial version of the cover for Rokid Max created for the "Creality x Rokid" design and print contest. This project was conceived alongside a potential marketing campaign: This is our GlassMorphism.With this play on words on Glassmorphism (a modern style often chosen to emphasize digital goods by leveraging the elegance of glass and the immateriality of light reflections), I intend to evoke the history of Rokid and the qualities, both physical and conceptual, of the products it develops, particularly augmented reality glasses. I chose a design that is creative yet elegant because XR devices are often not taken seriously and mistaken solely for cumbersome gaming devices. Designers and major companies advocating for extended reality technologies can contribute to the development of a new way of thinking starting from shapes to communicate underlying concepts, such as seriousness and creativity in the tech field. Regarding the author of the design: I studied New Technologies for the Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, and I am currently studying Cyberpsychology. I hand-drew the waves while designing a shape capable of connecting to the concept of fluidity and change in the surrounding reality for those wearing an XR device, but I was also thinking of expressing the holographic concept of a moving reflection. I specialize in interactive experience design for AR, MR, and VR, so I had a lot of time to reflect on this theme while looking at the waves of the sea in Venice while studying for my Virtual Reality thesis. This design has personal significance despite being closely intertwined with the history of Rokid and the current direction of design regarding AR technologies.
