Automatic Dust Extraction System for Drilling

Hello everyone ! Update 06.10.2025: Added a TPU printable cap that additionally seals the drill hole. The cap fits the standard tip and provides even better dust extraction, reducing the amount of dust that could escape. I present my idea for an automatic dust extraction system for drilling.The working range is about 12 cm, with adjustability — just pull out the upper cotter pin and slide the entire system.Easy detachment of the system and the vacuum connection — also secured with cotter pins.Dedicated to MAKITA rotary hammers (should work with others, too) with a collar for the auxiliary handle of approx. Ø40 mm. If it doesn’t fit your drill, contact me — its modular design makes it easy to adapt, I just need some measurements. :) The only part needed besides the printed components is an extension spring that can stretch to about 12–13 cm.Select the spring force to match your vacuum’s power so that the spring can extend the inner section while the vacuum is running.
