TESTING IN PROGRESS, UPDATES ONGOING
This is a left-side carriage (y axis) for a lot of typical printer designs. In my case, this is to replace the carriage in my Solidoodle 2.
This is designed for string (fishing line) drive system. Aside from that and the LM8UU bearings (2x), original solidoodle hardware can be used.
Axis positions, belt/string positions, stepper positions should be very close or the same as the original solidoodle design. Actually, this carriage holds the x stepper about 10mm farther left, which may interfere with some enclosures out there.
This y carriage holds the NEMA 14 x-axis stepper and the 2x smooth rods (centered 40mm apart) that make up the x-axis drive system.
The y carriage itself gets pulled around by fishing line, attached with M3 bolts just above and to the right of the y axis smooth rod.
