This the second prototype in a series of work exploring Candy Dispensers as building materials for sculptural forms and interventions. In this piece I am curious as to whether the Dispenser Stems could be arranged to produce edges and vertices similar to those found in simple platonic solids that are at the core of most 3D modeling programs. My goal is to produce the Spheres in conjunction with Pyramids, and Cubes to produce larger sculptural objects and decorative interiors. (right now it's a bit egg shaped - hence the work in progress status - i think i need to adjust some angles, or add some more stems - hopefully will have time to address this soon-ish).

Exhibited so far at Open Source Gallery in Brooklyn and Firecat Projects in Chicago. Available from Fuse-Works: http://www.fuse-works.com/Tom%20Burtonwood-p-00317-i-Detail# Photo courtesy of Fuse-Works.
