Another quick and dirty project.
I was looking out for something taking care of my tomatoes ;-)
How could I ensure during my 2 weeks absence that they don’t die due to lack of water.
Again the ESP8266 is the electronic equivalent to the good all Swiss pocket knife.
It’s so incredibly easy to set up. And only takes a couple minutes.
So bought in the electronic-bay the following items.
- Capacitive moisture sensor
- ESP8266 Wemos mini
- A relays shield for the Wemos board.
- A DHT11
- A box with JST Connector Male/Female (I should have bought a long time ago)
- A clear plastic spray.
- A 5VDC pump with ChinaExport CE marking.
- 2m silikon hose.
- 10m 4wire led driver cable. (Found this to be the cheapest way.)
I do know I could have thrown all hardware in a single enclosure. Downside is my seedling enclosure with it’s refelective aluminium coating is not in favour of the WiFi connectivity.
So the sensor inside the ‚hothouse‘ , - ESP, relay and water tank/pump on
