This is a stand which holds a a standard Poly-Prep (or other brand) chromatography column. These fit the 9 cm high, conical 0.8 x 4 cm columns at a height which allows a 1.5 ml tube rack or a small beaker to be placed below the column. A simple way of running columns using $0.15 worth of plastic, instead of buying a rack from BioRad for $656.
