This design was inspired by Rabun0510's "Curve Clock". In the process of adding a stepper drive to his design, I ended up starting from scratch with my own gear designs. Clocks are fun machines to explore.
This clock design is intended to be an exercise in mechanics, electronics and math (calculating gear ratios to give proper hours/minutes/seconds).
STL parts are designed with generous clearance (allows for about .005" blooming seen on most printers). Most parts require no supports if oriented correctly.
Parts allow for two configurations: manual hand-crank (no electronics needed) and stepper motor Arduino driven. I have built four of these for young students and have included graphics on the front face (changing filament to get color change). A plain front face stl is also included.
