This DIY cutting tool utilizes the motor from a long-idle household blender. The motor housing and handle were fabricated through 3D printing, with additional safety features including an added cutter guard and emergency stop switch. Original disassembled components including the cooling fan, power switch, and power cord were retained. The most challenging adaptation involved modifying the motor shaft to accommodate the blade coupling - a compatible clamping shaft component was eventually sourced online to complete this iteration.Notable design flaws:The initial 3D-printed material thickness at the guard mounting area proved insufficient, requiring subsequent reinforcement with an additional printed component.Imperfect screw hole alignment design at the motor-handle interface resulted in assembly gaps. These two critical points require optimization for anyone attempting similar modifications.
