Inspired by the work of @glowascii, @odd_jayy, @CworthDynamics, the recent Cephalopod Week, and my affection for steampunk and cuttlefish, I wanted to build my very own steampunk / cuttlefish / companion robot.
In case you want more backstory, you can read several of my progress / blog posts here: http://makerblock.com/2019/06/cephalopod-robot-friend-the-story-so-far/
Assembly should be pretty easy.
1) Print the three parts to the CuttleBot (head, body, tail) and a bunch of the connector pins
2) Print as many of the tentacle pieces as you want and a tentacle end piece for each tentacle
3) Run the fishing line and elastic cord through the tentacles, and through the back of the head of the 'bot
4) Assemble the 'bot using the connector pins
There's numerous things on my to-do list, such as adding some holes to the eyes so I can run LED's through them, places to affix a battery, servos, and a microcontroller inside. It's a work in progress. :)
