Egg Cross

I searched on Google to see if there were equations for the shape of an egg. In doing so I learned that a point in the middle of a connecting rod traces out an egg shape. I then derived an equation and entered it as a parametric curve in SolidWorks. This was fun for me since I like math.
Anyway, here's another reward I'll give out to students who do their Bible memorization work. The photo is of a 1" tall egg I printed. The model is designed to only need a little support material on the bottom of the egg to hold it up while printing (large end down). It's somewhat hollow to save material, having internal angles such that no support inside is required.
