Elf Lights

Outdoor landscape lights with an attitude.

Update 5/19 : Added the Arduino code for randomly changing the colors of the lights.

Update 5/21: Added some pictures of a second set of Elf Lights.

I've wired some of these shapes up with programmable RGB LEDs from AdaFruit https://www.adafruit.com/products/322 and used some old Cat5 cable to power and control them from an Arduino on a simple old analog timer. My wife, when she saw them the first time, said that fairy dust came to mind. Exactly!

The LEDs are held in the bottoms of the shapes using the connectors here http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:201031 hot glued over holes drilled into the bottom of the hollow shapes.
