On my latest attempt I used topology optimization methods to remove material from the original part, now I spent more time on it, trying to build it up according to the optimized mesh. This way archiving much better results. Specially in the homogeneous stress distribution below the part... Optimization time: 6 hours ( 4.0 GHz i7 - 24GB RAM) Mesh post-processing: 40 minutes Organic surface modeling: about 10 hours... Original Mass: 2051g Phase I reduction: 73% (554g) Case 1 Displacement: Max 0.605mm Static Nodal Stress (von Mises) - Max: 123.2 ksi - RMS: 18.98 ksi
