All of my projects were printed with a Prusa Mk3S.
- 12V battery
- 1 arduino
- 1 cnc shield or electronics to run a stepper motor
- 2 buttons
- 1 screen
- 1 on-off switch
- 1 lead weight
- 1 Flange
Other than 3D Printed parts:
- 1 planatary geared stepper motor: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QEVLDVO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
- 1 X 8mm screw rod (about 40cm) + 5 nuts
- 1 X 4mm (inner diameter) heat brass insert
- 1 X m4-30mm bolt for rotational lock
- 2 X shims 7mmX17mmX2mm
- 1 X m5-40mm bolt for motor holder
- 4 X M3 -15mm bolts for stepper motor
- Epoxy Glue
Code is attached here:
https://github.com/ristllin/StarTracker/blob/main/star_tracker.ino
Usage is really simple. aim the rotational axis to the northern star. aim your camera and activate the motor. the motor spins at the exact same rate as earth, counter clock wise, meaning it cancelles earths rotation in comparison to the stars, so you can take long exposures with no smea
