This is a housing for an Ethercon style ethernet cable tester. It uses Neutrik panel mount pass thru connectors, 2 shielded ethernet cables, and an ethernet tester found on eBay.
I velcro'ed the tester to the housing so it's easy to remove to change batteries when needed.

After the initial build, I decided it would be nice to have the tester at an angle rather than flat, and so I added the 'Tester Ramp' to it. I built that separately and just epoxied it in.

It will not test continuity shell to shell on the Ethercons (as designed) so if needed you'll need a DMM for that. But it will allow you to test all pins of an Ethernet cable, even one with Ethercons on it. It'll show broken connections, miswiring, etc..

Very handy in the live production world with all of the Ethercon cables we now use for audio, networking, lighting, and video.

Printed on Centauri Carbon.
