I created this bracket to enable the use of higher quality case bearings on my FlashForge Creator Dual (Replicator 1 Dual). The case bearings for the Y-axis motion transfer rods are flanged (5mmx10mmx4mm) bearings that are pretty low quality.
I decided to use ceramic bearings for my pillow blocks (5mmx11mmx4mm) but couldn't find any flanged bearings that were ceramic! So I bought flangeless bearings of the correct size (5mmx10mm4mm) and used these brackets to hold them in the correct position in the case. The positioning of these bearings in the case is important so the pulleys line up correctly with the gantry mounting locations.
Word to the wise, when you drill through your case, use a small drill bit first and then a larger one at high speed so you don't damage your ply-wood. You can also try to butt up a piece of wood on the inside of the drilled area and it will stop any splintering.
