I'm using [these](https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B078PLRBHW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) helping hands for my soldering projects. Maybe you can see, maybe not, but the attachment system is really flimsy and moves easily out of place. This pushed me to creating a bespoke solution with a heavy(-ish) base that would be more stable.
The base will work with any helping hands or other devices with M4 holes that are distributed in the corners of a 32.4 x 24.4 mm rectangle.
# You will need
* 4 x M4x20mm screw
* 4 x M4 nut
* 100 x 2p coins (as in, £2 in 2p coins), but it will take anything up to 26mm in diameter
I've chosen 2p because it was the heaviest and I had plenty available. 100 pieces gives me ~700-750g. Considering the helping hands weigh about a 100g this should hold up just fine.
For people who have coins of other sizes I've included also a "blank" bottom piece. Just load it into your favourite CAD software and add the cutouts for your favourit
