This is a device that helps level large pieces of wood. It serves as a reference surface for the planer to follow, ensuring that the wood is cut to a consistent thickness. The device requires aluminum rulers of 48 inches or more, which can be fixed in the piece and the planer held on top using the rails. It's designed for Bosch hand planer, but it can be adapted to other models. If you're using the rulers only on top of the piece, it can use its high points as reference on the sides and help even the surface, but it works better if the piece is not the reference, and you place reference height at the ends.
