Hexagonal mesh hinged writing implement vessel

Although the friction of the hinge was sufficient for a short while, somewhat as expected, the hinge has gone limp.
A new version with some sort of latch is in the works.

Just a place to put some writing things.
My new backpack doesn't have a good place for pens and pencils, so I figured I would just make something to put them in instead of letting them swim around the bottom of the pockets.

It uses a piece of 1.75mm filament as a hinge

It should accommodate almost any writing implement up to a little over 5" long, and 0.5" wide.
