HexBox, for all your storage needs. That are small. If you need another size, please request, and I can upload that as well! I will occasionally update the model and mark the changes below so you can check if what you missed matters to you.One box size:40 x 40 x 80 (mm)Updates:- Added a baseplate for the boxes. The baseplate makes sure the boxes do not move at all and are fixed. The baseplate is for 5 boxes at the moment. Use it if you want! (Also makes assembly easier and the final box sturdier)- Improved the connecting hexes, chamfered edges, and increased the size a tiny bit. Now it should be easier to assemble, but snug even without glue.Size:The box is designed to be 40 mm x 40 mm x 80 mm (W x H x L). It has a wall thickness of 2 mm, with tolerances of 0.4 mm, which means it should print fine with any printer. The inside box dimensions are the same, just the dimension - wall thickness * 2 - tolerance * 2. Hex holes are 4 mm radius (8 mm diameter) and the hex fits are 3.9 mm. Depending on your printer tolerance, the hex connect might need to be adjusted. The side connect is double the wall thickness so 4 mm and the flush connect is the same as the wall thickness, 2 mm.Use / AssemblyPrint the case and the inside box. If you want to connect multiple boxes, print the hexagonal "side connect" (which is a hexagon with a radius 0.1 mm smaller than the holes) and connect it to the side or on the top or bottom of the box. Snap two boxes together, done! You can connect as many boxes as you want, either stacked on top of each other or placed alongside each other. Use multiple connects for better adherence. For a permanent solution, glue can be used.If you are done adding boxes and want to cover the holes, use the "Flush Connect" and consider adding some glue as well.Design ConceptThis hexagonal grid design is both visually appealing and functional, allowing for a reduction in material use and weight while maintaining structural integrity.
