Interlocked Cubes

Collectioncubes MotivationThis sculpture was inspired by a model printed with a laser sinter metal powder printer on Formnext 2023. The original model was too complex and delicate to be printed on an FDM printer, so I redesigned it to be more printable. The resulting sculpture, "Cubes Interlocked," is a geometric dance of form and space, created using two interlocking cube-shaped frames.To make the sculpture more printable, I simplified the design and reduced the number of parts. I also used a variety of printing techniques, such as bridging and supports, to create the complex geometry of the sculpture.The finished sculpture is a example for the power of FDM printing. It is a beautiful and complex object that would not have been possible to create without this technology.I hope that this sculpture will inspire others to explore the possibilities of FDM printing.
