This was something that I put together to hold an iPad againts the wall so my kids could watch it rather then having it on the floor or them holding it.
It works for the iPad 1,2,3 but not the Air (it is smaller in size and may fall out).
If you have a case on it, you can still use it, but you may just need to slide it in from the side.
Added: a taller version which has taller arms to hold thicker case.
