Iris Diaphragm

This is a cool mechanism that approximates a center hole with a continuusly variable opening radius. It is in fact an octagon and not a circle but it works quite well! The mechanism itself is purely 2 dimensional and I just designed it for fun one afternoon. You can see it in action here:
