I purchased some locks used with a set of keys. Since I have access to rekeying tools I decided I would rekey them, just in case. However, I have always been curious about making key impressions, but I couldn't find any cheap kits or models online for a mold.

This model was made just to have some fun and I used only keys to locks I own, after
which the locks were rekeyed. Only make keys to locks you own and don't make a mold of
keys to locks that would be bad if they got disabled. The keys made with this process work, but they are considerably weaker than regular keys.

As a sort of jack of all trades, I wanted to try doing a key impression to copy a house key. I was able to make it open a door, with some persuasion. It is a double-sided mold but both sides are the same so just make sure you print off 2 copies of the file.
