Beneath the shattered hills and abandoned mines of the World of Reclamation, the Kobolds of the Black Warrens rule the dark. Lean and horned, with frilled ears that catch the faintest sound, they are predators first and scavengers second - waiting for days in silence before springing their traps. They claim descent from the First Dragons, but their warped features suggest a long, solitary history of survival and adaptation, far removed from any true draconic lineage. Kobold society is built on cunning rather than strength. The greatest among them are trapwrights - engineers of deadfalls, false floors, and killing corridors. Their warrens are weapons in themselves, twisting labyrinths where the stone shifts from familiar to fatal without warning. Though they rarely deal with outsiders, warlords and pirates sometimes hire Kobolds as saboteurs, and in the Strange Wastes, some Wasteland Reaver tribes have been known to unleash them as expendable skirmishers.
