I’ll be honest with you—I have no idea about instruments, no clue how to play them, or how they are built. But I’ve wanted to test the tension of a thin layer of PLA for a while now, and since there’s a competition happening anyway, well… now there’s a drum. As I said, I have zero knowledge about instruments, but I can tell you this: it works, and it’s fun to play with! In some small tests, I found that the print bed temperature might affect the tension and therefore the sound. But to be honest, I printed the drum three times with the exact same settings, and all three sound different. So, you’re definitely in for a surprise! I hope drumming around brings you just as much joy as it did for me. With that said—have fun printing!
