Lenses with M mount for Leica M cameras can be coded easily with this tool.
Clip the tool on the mount of the lens push it down and rotate it until it snaps into the milled nut of the mount. Use a sharp waterproof black pencil and paint the code through the 6 holes of the tool. Edding 8400 (cd marker) worked fine for me.

Note that the coding works together with the frame selector. If you use an adapter ensure that it is the correct one for your focus length.
