This mount for the Echo Dot was designed to attached to 1/2" Modular Hose, Loc-Line tube and a clamp so that the Dot can be positioned closer to the user. I designed this for a friend with Multiple Sclerosis who uses the Dot to control his environment, but his voice is weak so the Dot can't always hear him. I used a spring clamp to attach it to his over the bed hospital table so he can use it in his wheelchair or in bed. The I drilled a hole in the clamp for a 1 1/2" long button head cap screw, which was then bolted to a single piece of loc-line with a washer just large enough to fit inside the ball and a nylon lock nut. I experimented a bit with the length of loc-line to figure out the longest length that could support Dot. I ended up settling on 18 links.
