Long Lock

Ryerson University (2017/2018) Professor: Vincent Hui Creators: Sahil Saroy & Dan Sobieraj We are proposing an integrated locking and lighting mechanism for longboards to provide security and safety to riders. Our design is modeled to standard truck dimensions that are universal with most longboards, skateboards and penny boards, ensuring the product to be very versatile. The lights are offered in red and white to provide an orientation of front and back on the board so that riders are visible to cars and so that they can see any obstructions ahead of them. Both lockboxes include a Kensington lock, which has the capability to offer a wide range of four lettered combinations for the user to preset. The product comes in pairs so that users are able to apply the Long-Lock on both ends of their board. Having the locking mechanism on both trucks of the board allows the board to be secured in a vertical orientation so that it does not obstruct the sidewalks.
