Machine Tool Dust Pickup

**Vac Hose to Machine Tool Adaptor Design Notes**
This is another in the dust port adapter series. This one provides dust pickup for machine tools that don’t have dust ports i.e., to collect the dust off the table or some other surface.

It is designed with holes to accommodate ½”Ø disk magnets that I had on hand and to fit a normal 2¼” O.D. vac hose like on a Rigid or similar. The large opening will work with a drill press when using a Forstner bit or perhaps a small lathe. It’s too small for even a medium lathe though. When the table in question, like my Shopsmith, does not have a ferrous table, you can combine the dust pick up with a clamp or another hold down solution.

For those of you interested in design, I have also found a way around a problem I was having with Fusion360 lofting -> Orca slicer, which is the slicer I use. I kept getting errors in Orca saying there was a void in the model and it could slice it. I tried “fixing’ the model in Orca and I think this may have worked
