RAK Rooftop Solar Node Enclosure
This is a fully DIY, watertight 3D-printed enclosure designed to house a RAKwireless WisBlock and support solar-powered operation with an 8000mAh battery. Perfect for rooftop deployments or remote IoT applications!
Features:
Holds three 60x120mm solar panels (wired in parallel with a 5V inline regulator).
Internal compartment for a RAKwireless WisBlock module.
Bottom tray designed for an 8000mAh battery.
Uses M3 brass threaded inserts (6mm depth) for secure assembly.
Outer plates screw in place for a weather-resistant seal.
Silicone Rubber Sheet added to both plates to create a waterproof gasket.

For solar panel protection, it's recommended to use a 1N5819 Schottky diode on the positive lead of each panel to prevent backflow current in parallel setups.
