Modular Flexi Dragon

To be honest, this is the first flexi dragon I've ever printed, and also the first one I've ever designed. I tried to keep the shapes fairly simple, and somehow ended up giving it some very short little arms lol. I'm a big fan of multi part designs because they help reduce waste. Flexi dragons are often printed using multicolor silk PLA, but I thought it would be fun to take a different approach and make the sections interchangeable. That way, you can print each part in a different color and mix and match them however you like, without needing color changes during the print. I made two test prints. One is a more neutral black and white version with a flame like tail, while the other serves as a showcase to demonstrate how you can mix and match colors however you like. In theory, you could even build a giant chain made entirely of body segments or nothing but tiny arms if that's your thing! The base parts are: Head Body Body with arms Arms Tail I haven't had any feedback from kids yet since I don't have children of my own. I did some testing by playing around with it myself, but that's probably not quite the same 😅. If you print one and share your experience, I'd love to hear about it! One thing to keep in mind: you can change parts, but repeatedly swapping them will eventually wear down the connectors and make the joints looser. That's actually one of the things I'd be interested in getting feedback on.
