This is a modular rotary switch using standard micro switches. It consists of one or more switching layers with up to 4 micro switches in each layer and one stepping layer which defines the switching positions and the number of steps.
All parts are designed to be printed without support material and without bridges.
External parts needed:
- micro switches standard size 20mm x 10mm x 6.4mm without extra lever (can be removed easily if present). The number of required micro switches depend on the number of switching layers and the number of switches per layer (up to 4 per layer). The shown example uses one switching layer with 4 micro switches. I'm using type "KW11-3Z 5A 250V" (available very cheep on ebay).
- M3 x 16mm countersunk screws: two per layer (at least 4 screws) with M3 nuts.
- 2 extra M3 nuts for the mounting holes of the complete switch.

The rotary switch has a 45 degree switching angle which means it has 8 positions witch can be limited to 4 steps by using the stop-
