## DIY Smart MQTT Button (ESP8266 / ESP-12E)

This project presents a **DIY smart button** based on the **ESP8266 (ESP-12E)** and **MQTT**, designed to enhance the smart home experience with a simple, low-power, and secure input device.

The button is optimized for **energy efficiency** and can be powered by:
- **2 × 1.5V AAA batteries**, or
- **3 × 1.2V AAA rechargeable batteries**

It uses the ESP8266 for cost effectiveness while still supporting **secure MQTT communication with CA certificate validation**, making it suitable for production-grade home automation environments.
