Multi-Material Filament Loader

UPDATE: I have currently halted work on this project. I was able to get pretty good results, but after some thought, I'm not sure the large amount of waste generated from the extensive purging that is required for using only one hotend and the very long print times are worth it. It is a very cool idea and I may continue work on it at some point, but for now, I am letting it rest.

This filament loader is designed to autoload 3 different materials into a direct drive extruder. The design is modular, so in theory, you can add as many filament bays as you want.

This is designed specifically to work with the Duet 2 control boards and I will be working on and publishing firmware for Duet.

Please note that this filament feeder will NOT work with a geared direct drive extruder. Your hobbed gear must be directly mounted to the motor shaft on your extruder.
