The Ring Topology
Description:
A ring network is organised so that the server is connected to two computers and those computers connect to others in a circle until they join creating a ring.
Advantages:
There are a few advantages to using a ring topology such as data travels in one direction only which means that there are significantly less collisions. This type of topology can be very useful for LAN.
Disadvantages:
The biggest disadvantage is that if a node breaks down then the entire network will be affected since data has to pass through every single node it crosses in the network.
