At work, we were given new Acer* laptops, which brought several issues for me. The most significant one was the keyboard layout, which I found uncomfortable. I decided to use the same external keyboard I have at home – the Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600 – but that immediately resulted in very limited desk space in front of the laptop for documents. At the same time, I wanted to raise the laptop display closer to the height of my external monitor and hide the cables underneath the laptop. This simple stand solved everything. The seating surface for the laptop is 207 mm long, and the front stop allows laptops up to 17.6 mm thick. The rear height of the stand is 98.5 mm. A central hole was designed to accept an 8 mm wooden rod, intended to connect the left and right parts for increased stability. In practice, however, I found it unnecessary and never installed it. * Acer TravelMate P2 14, model No: N22Q24
