Since I just gained the ability to 3D print, I wanted to try my hand at some simple modeling and figured I would be able to make some backup connectors for my gridwalls instead of wasting zip ties which is fucking annoying and wasteful.
The connector is modeled after the connectors from the STOR version of gridwalls, which I got at kmart. The one shown is printed in PLA.
Differences:
- The bottom is solid, so you can't connect the walls with the inside of the connector like the ones from the box.
- The 3D printed one is 2mm taller than the packaged version. So, I'll be using these primarily as my base proppers so I don't have to waste 6-8 from-the-box connectors supporting my display. I would not use mix of printed and boxed connectors because you will have a very slight imbalance. So yeah, print as many as you need for the base. Measure them after you're done printing just to be on the safe side.
- My last photo shows a small discrepancy between the two in use. There
